Harrogate Town Council

Harrogate Town Council is a new civic body for Britain’s Spa Town. Rooted in Harrogate’s springs, landscape and long tradition of public stewardship, the identity creates a coherent system for the Council while opening up a wider visual language for the town. It is grounded in civic heritage, but designed for a new chapter.

At a time when local identity, public trust and civic representation matter more than ever, the formation of the Town Council returns decision-making closer to the community. It creates a renewed structure for care, visibility and public custodianship.

The commission needed to express the authority of the new Council while clearly distinguishing the institution from the place it serves. It therefore brought together a contemporary council identity and formal coat of arms, alongside the Crown of Springs as a separate place emblem for Harrogate.
